Turkish bath is dryer than Finnish Sauna. But it is colder than Russian Banya. Still, it is really good. Generally, everything has come to norm - Turks have lost eagerness to live military life, and Turkish baths were born again. Visiting Hammam is a special ritual to which local residents are in earnest very much. Rich Turks used to consult with astrologists about optimum day of a military campaign in the Bath during past centuries. Meditation was (and still is) practiced in the special room where it is possible to smoke a ‘hookah’, to play ‘backgammons’, to drink tea, to communicate with friends, to discuss affairs with business partners.

Visiting a bath for Turkish women - a part of a public life. It is possible to share news with friends there, even to gossip. Baths play role of beauty salons, ladies' clubs. Every Turk must take his wife in Hammam at least once a week. Women drink coffee; discuss husbands, quite often spending in a bath all day long.
Hammam – is not only the place for washing, but also the original improving system, the whole philosophy of spiritual clarification which Turks name ‘returning to oneself’. Visiting a Turkish bath helps to relax, the toxins are deduced from an organism, blood circulation is stimulated, and sleeplessness goes away.

All physicians unanimously have found out the improving effect of Hammam. Though Hammam is not recommended to pregnant women, to people with cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, with skin diseases. It is easy to notice, that there is much less precautions, than at visiting a sauna or Russian bath. The glory of Turkish baths has flown about the entire world not without reason.

In XIX century Hammams were spread all over the Germany, England and America. In numerous newspapers which were published at that time in the Europe, experts approved, that Turkish baths help at treatment of such diseases as bronchitis, asthma, heat, cholera, cold and even a chronic alcoholism.

The Turkish bath has won huge popularity in areas with hot climate conditions: it is simply impossible to live in the East without regular clarification of a body. Hammam served not only for treatment, but also for preventive maintenance of many diseases. It is subordinated to the only one purpose - relaxation and rest.
