Saunas vary in size from 3 x 4 (0.91 x 1.22 m) closet-sized saunas for one bather to large 8’ x 10’ (2.43 x 3.05 m) sizes on home use.
4 x 4 - this small sauna can easily fit two adults (sitting up), and can go in almost any home.
4 x 6 - this size can allow most people to lie down on either of the benches, but can be made slightly bigger to accommodate a taller person.
6 x 6 - this is a typical medium sized sauna layout.
6 x 8 - this large sauna is ideal for commercial use, or for the comfortable home use of six or more people. Profitable saunas vary from 6’ x 6’ (1.83 x 1.83 m) to even 15’ x 25’ (4.57 x 7.62 m) super-saunas to hold large numbers of bathers.
The most popular sizes for home use are the 5’ x 7’ (1.52 x 2.13 m) and 6’ x 7’ (1.82 x 2.13 m) as the 7’ (2.13 m) top bench easily seats four people and is long enough to lie down comfortably. Such saunas are usually rated for six people.
The sizes of 6’ x 8’ (1.82 x 2.43 m) , 6’ x 9’ (1.82 x 2.74 m) and 7’ x 10’ (2.13 x 3.05 m) are the most popular to seat seven to twelve people at a time.
